The desert Kingdom of Jordan, officially known as Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, came into existence during post-World War I, when the Middle East was divided by Britain and France. The Kingdom has Israel and the Dead Sea on its western border, Syria on the north, Iraq on the east, with Saudi Arabia on the South.
